Features: Large capacity, adjustable filtration, multiple heads, easily cleaned. of use, the gears wore to the point that normal juicing was impossible. HOWEVER, the gears are plastic, and if overloaded the gears skip and wear rather than the motor stalling. After 6 mos. The first clue was very noisy operation right out of the box. The Braun Citromatic is far superior in quality, but has less capacity and lacks the De Longhi features.
Easy to use, clean. and fresh lemon juice for recipes and fresh orange juice to drink can't be beat.
I LOVE this juicer. It's very stable and doesn't wobble or "walk" while it's operating. My only wish is that the detachable parts were dishwasher safe. I really like that it gives you the option of straining out the pulp if you want. I still give it five stars because it works so well. And I like the fact that the cone rotates in both directions. I got this last week and have been juicing limes and lemons ever since. It's easy to use and doesn't take up much room in my cabinet.
And that there are 2 sizes of cones - one for lemons/limes, another for oranges/grapefruit. This juicer really gets ALL the juice out of the lemons and limes. the manual says to hand wash them. Now if they could just come up with an electric citrus zester.
I wonder, how could anyone possibly give this a good rating. I called DeLonghi to report my complaint. I ordered it online. It's the most cheaply made, poorly designed piece of junk I've ever seen.
Expecting this replacement to be working fine, I tried it, and it was just as bad as the first one I bought (very weak motor which would freeze up, gears grinding, very noisy, etc). After lengthly discussion with various reps, they finally agreed to send me a third replacement (free of charge). Had I actually been able to see it and touch it, I would have never bought it. Without even using it, one could easily "feel" that it is very cheaply made. The rep there said that mine was probably damaged during the shipment (how could that possibly be when the box and the juicer were perfectly free from any visible damage).
It arrived about two weeks later. I chose this particulare juicer because of the high ratings it got. What a great disappointment I had when I first took it out of the box. The third one broke down in about a week.
I bought this citrus juicer merely because of the "good" reviews it got. He said that I would be sent another one free of charge. How nice. I called DeLonghi again telling them about the replacement they sent me not working properly. I might as well use it." The very first minute I tried juicing a ripe orange, the gears started to grind, the motor stopped, and the thing made a loud racket. I took it apart, and I saw the cheap plastic gears with some of the teeth stripped off. This thing is a joke.
--- Final thought. I said to myself: "Well, I bought it. It's unbelieveably noisy. Well, you guessed it. Shame on you, DeLonghi, for manufacturing and marketing a ridiculous piece of junk.
The juicer has nice features (i.e. I have only had this juicer for a few months and it stopped working today. the tray that catches the pulp), but it simply isn't durable. I have probably only used it a dozen times. The last few times I used it, it got extremely loud and today, it simply stopped spinning. I can't believe I have to throw this thing away after so few uses. Very disappointing.
